Dhaka, Nov 11 (V7N) — Forest and Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan stated on Monday that while political parties are pressing for timely elections, the government acknowledges these calls alongside demands for reforms. Speaking in a meeting at the ministry's secretariat, she highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing these demands in a balanced approach, emphasizing that elections will happen "not too soon, but not too late" to ensure proper preparation.

Rizwana also noted the importance of respecting the reform demands, expecting political parties to approach the dialogue constructively. Addressing a question about the office allocation for Mahfuz Alam, the special assistant to the Chief Advisor, she clarified that his advisor-level position was appointed strategically to support specific government initiatives.

In parallel, newly appointed Food Advisor Ali Imam Majumder shared updates on the food supply situation. Majumder expressed optimism for a strong Aman rice harvest if November remains disaster-free. He reported that the government is actively supporting the private sector's involvement in the rice market while facilitating imports currently at the shipment stage, ensuring a steady food supply.

Responding to inquiries about the election, Majumder affirmed that the government is actively engaging with political parties. "We continue our duties without pressure," he said, underscoring that dialogue with political entities is ongoing to ensure a smooth electoral process.
