Dhaka, Nov 15 (V7N) — The interim government has faced sharp criticism for its failure to provide a clear roadmap for the treatment and rehabilitation of those injured during the July Revolution, even after 100 days. Umama Fatima, spokesperson for the Student Movement Against Discrimination, expressed her concerns during a visit to six injured protesters at Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital on Friday afternoon.

“The government has neither ensured proper treatment nor compiled a complete list of the injured and deceased. This negligence is causing immense suffering for the victims and has created chaos,” Umama Fatima stated.

She emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive and accessible healthcare system to address the needs of the injured protesters, advocating for round-the-clock treatment facilities. Additionally, she called for the rehabilitation and employment of the victims, stressing that these measures are essential for their long-term well-being.

The July Revolution, which led to significant political changes, saw widespread protests against discrimination, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries. However, the lack of follow-through on promises to assist the victims has drawn criticism from various quarters, with activists demanding accountability and immediate action from the interim administration.

Observers note that the absence of a concrete plan for victim support risks undermining the government’s credibility during this transitional period.
