Meherpur, July 09 (V7N) — National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam warned that extortion has become rampant across the country, describing it as spreading like an epidemic.

He made the remarks during the inauguration of the NCP upazila office in Mujibnagar, Meherpur, held on Tuesday night despite heavy rain.

Nahid Islam urged the public to unite and actively participate in solving local problems, emphasizing that nationwide change begins with improvements at the grassroots level.

The event was also attended by NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Central Joint Coordinator and Meherpur District Chief Coordinator Advocate Shakil Ahmed, Central Member Sohel Rana, Upazila Chief Coordinator Al Mamun Sentu, and other local leaders.
