Dhaka, Dec 08 (V7N)- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity to rebuild the nation, stating that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) envisions forming a government involving all political parties. He made these remarks during a virtual address at a divisional workshop in Rangpur on Sunday (December 8).
Unity and Governance
Tarique Rahman highlighted that a stable and prosperous Bangladesh requires collective efforts. "We want to form a government where everyone can express their opinions freely. Rebuilding the country is only possible if all people are united," he said.
He criticized the ruling Awami League for fostering division and instability to maintain power, which he claimed has eroded the nation’s harmony. He urged BNP leaders and activists to earn and maintain public trust during these trying times.
Commitments to Minorities and Employment
Tarique Rahman pledged to provide security and equal opportunities to people of all religions if BNP comes to power, accusing the Awami League of committing atrocities against minorities.
On addressing unemployment, he said, "We will create skilled manpower by introducing technical education at the school level to ensure that no one remains unemployed." He also proposed establishing memorials for those killed in the last 15 years, including during mass uprisings, and offering state jobs to qualified family members of victims.
Vision for Lalmonirhat Airport
Responding to concerns about the stalled Lalmonirhat airport project, Tarique Rahman noted that its viability depends on financial sustainability. He stated, "The airport cannot be operated on subsidies. If a private company demonstrates profitability, the government can support the necessary infrastructure development."
Call for Collective Effort
Tarique Rahman reiterated that rebuilding Bangladesh is not the responsibility of BNP alone. He called for unity similar to the collective efforts that previously ousted dictatorship, urging all stakeholders to collaborate in shaping a better future.
This vision for inclusive governance and national development reflects BNP’s intent to foster a more equitable and united Bangladesh.
