Dhaka, Dec 16 (V7N) — After the presentation of state honours at the National Memorial, a large crowd gathered to pay their respects to the martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971. People from all walks of life, along with various social and cultural organizations, participated in the homage to the nation's valiant heroes.

Tributes were also paid to the freedom fighters who were injured during the war. Students from schools, colleges, and universities joined in, adding to the solemnity of the occasion.

This year’s Victory Day celebrations saw the younger generation embracing the spirit of independence with a renewed sense of pride and enthusiasm. Dressed in red and green, symbolizing the national flag, people of all ages—from children to teenagers—gathered to honour the legacy of the nation's freedom fighters. Many proudly displayed the red and green victory flag, carrying it as a symbol of hope and resilience.

Amidst the celebrations, participants reflected on the progress of the country. Many expressed a collective desire to see a Bangladesh free of inequality, emphasizing the importance of good governance and inclusivity. Citizens reiterated their commitment to building a nation where unity transcends political, racial, and religious divides.

Victory Day remains not just a celebration of independence but also a call to action, inspiring generations to uphold the values of freedom, equality, and justice.
