Dhaka, Dec 31 (V7N) — Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Bangladesh and Bengalis around the world on the occasion of the Christian New Year 2025.

In a message on Tuesday, Dr. Yunus expressed his hopes and aspirations for a prosperous year ahead. "The message of the arrival of the new year excites us and inspires us to walk the path of a beautiful future with new enthusiasm. On this auspicious occasion of the new year, the current interim government is committed to climbing to new heights of progress by facing all challenges and utilizing new possibilities," he said.

Reflecting on the recent history of the nation, Dr. Yunus emphasised the interim government's commitment to the ideals forged during the mass uprisings of the past year. "The interim government, formed through the mass uprising of students, workers, and the people, is committed to always upholding the blood of millions of martyrs and the freedom achieved against fascism in the last July-August months," he noted.

He further assured that the government would continue to prioritise the welfare of the nation, adding, "We will love the country, devote all our strength to the overall welfare of the people of the country, and resist any terrorism."

Dr. Yunus concluded his message with a wish for harmony and prosperity in the new year. "May the bonds of harmony, goodwill, and brotherhood among people be further strengthened in the new year. May the Christian New Year 2025 bring unending happiness, peace, and prosperity to everyone's lives," he said.

The message has been warmly received by the people, setting a tone of hope and unity for the year ahead.
