Dhaka, Jan 05 (V7N) — The Chief Advisor's press wing has announced plans to hold discussions with political parties regarding the anti-discrimination student movement and the National Citizens' Committee's 'July Revolution Declaration'. The announcement was made by Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the Chief Advisor, during a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.

“The government is actively working on the declaration and plans to discuss it with political parties soon,” Shafiqul Alam stated. When questioned about the demand for an announcement by January 15, he replied, “We said the announcement will be made within a few days. Our work is ongoing.”

Addressing the long-pending investigation into the murders of journalists Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi, Shafiqul Alam said, “The investigation has accelerated. A task force was formed in November, and they have interviewed 25-30 new individuals. We hope the PBI (Police Bureau of Investigation) will make significant progress as they are putting in substantial effort.”

In a surprising development, the press secretary announced that the government is allowing media access to the infamous 'Aynaghor', a location known as a torture cell during the previous Awami League government. “This move reflects the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability,” he added.

The discussions and initiatives indicate the government’s focus on addressing pressing issues and engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure a democratic process.
