DHAKA, Jan 16, (V7N) – The Interim Government of Bangladesh has issued a strong condemnation regarding the attack on a peaceful gathering of ethnic minority students in front of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) in Motijheel on January 15. The government has ordered an investigation into the incident, which has already led to the arrest of two individuals connected to the attack.
In a statement released by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing, the government emphasized its commitment to identifying and apprehending all perpetrators involved in the violence. "Other perpetrators are being identified and will soon be arrested. All miscreants will be brought to justice,” the statement declared.
The government reiterated its stance against mob violence, racial hatred, and bigotry, asserting that such actions have no place in Bangladesh. It warned that anyone engaging in activities that disrupt harmony, peace, and law and order would face severe consequences without discrimination.
This incident occurs against a backdrop of heightened tensions and previous unrest related to ethnic and communal issues in the country. The government's response reflects its ongoing efforts to maintain stability and protect the rights of minority groups amidst a challenging political climate.
