Dhaka, Feb 16 (V7N) – The interim government will document the role of media outlets from July 1 to 36, said Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He also stated that media outlets critical of the government’s mistakes would be held accountable.
Shafiqul Alam made these remarks at a discussion titled "Fascist Statements in the Media: Looking Back from July 1 to 36", held at the Press Club on Sunday (February 16) afternoon.
The press secretary called for an investigation into the role of media outlets in major incidents over the last 15 years.
"The statements made by media outlets on these incidents will be documented and researched. The interim government aims to build a Bangladesh where no one's voice is suppressed. Journalism should ensure the accountability of all governments," he said.
Shafiqul Alam stressed that no entity—no matter how powerful—should be above accountability. The initiative to examine media narratives is expected to shape the future of press freedom and responsibility in the country.
