Dhaka, Feb 16 (V7N) – Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, the Education Advisor, has acknowledged that students across the country are still facing delays in receiving textbooks, despite the February deadline. He assured that all necessary textbooks would be distributed to students by the end of this month.

Dr. Mahmud made this statement during a working session with District Administrators at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.

While addressing the ongoing issue of delayed textbook distribution, the Education Advisor emphasized that the government is working to resolve the situation. He confirmed that students will receive their textbooks within this month, despite the February timeline having passed.

Dr. Mahmud raised concerns about the seizure of school boards and the growing political pressure on educational institutions. He compared the current situation to the illegal seizure of chars, urging that local, reputable individuals should be included in the school and college boards, free from political influence.

As the national elections approach, Dr. Mahmud emphasized that the government’s primary goal is not to meet every demand but to ensure fair elections. He also made it clear that no establishment will bear the name of anyone from the interim government, encouraging the idea of neutrality in state affairs.

The Education Advisor also addressed the plight of private school teachers, urging district administrators to ensure these teachers receive their due allowances. He acknowledged that private school teachers have been deprived in various ways and emphasized the importance of addressing these grievances.

In conclusion, Dr. Mahmud stressed the need for impartial governance in educational institutions and affirmed the government's commitment to resolving ongoing challenges related to textbook distribution and teacher welfare.
