Dhaka, Feb 17 (V7N) – Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan has advised against lowering air conditioner (AC) temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius in secretariats, offices, banks, homes, and mosques during the upcoming Ramadan to address the ongoing power crisis.

Speaking to reporters on Monday (February 17) after a session at the District Commissioners (DC) Conference at Osmani Memorial Hall in Dhaka, he emphasized that a dedicated team from the Electricity Department will monitor compliance with the directive. If any violations are detected, the respective areas will face load shedding as a consequence.

The decision comes amid concerns over increased electricity demand during Ramadan, particularly during sehri and iftar hours. Authorities aim to ensure stable power supply by implementing energy-saving measures across key sectors.

Further details on the monitoring mechanism and potential penalties for non-compliance are expected to be released in the coming days.
