Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) – The interim government’s Home Affairs Advisor, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, has reaffirmed that Operation Devil Hunt will continue indefinitely to improve law and order across the country.
“This operation will continue as long as the Devil exists,” he stated while addressing the District Commissioners' (DC) Conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday. He also urged officials to continue their cooperation in ensuring the success of the operation.
Crackdown on Corruption and Border Security Enhancements
The Home Affairs Advisor emphasized that corruption must be eradicated to sustain national progress, instructing District Commissioners (DCs) to take strong measures against corruption in their respective areas.
He also addressed several key security concerns raised by DCs:
Increasing the presence of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in border areas.
Expanding the Naval Police for better maritime security.
Boosting the manpower of the Industrial Police to ensure safety in major economic zones.
Strengthening law enforcement in Gazipur, as per the request of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner.
The DC conference served as a platform for discussions on national security, administrative improvements, and anti-corruption measures, signaling the interim government’s intent to crack down on crime and governance failures.
