Dhaka, Feb 20 (V7N) – The prestigious Ekushey Padak 2025 has been awarded to distinguished individuals and the Bangladesh women's football team for their outstanding contributions in various fields.

The medals were presented by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at a ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Thursday.

At 12:40 PM, team captain Sabina Khatun and vice-captain Maria Manda received the award on behalf of the national women's football team, which recently secured victory in the SAFF Championship. Other members of the team were also present on stage during the event.

In addition, four members of the Avro keyboard development team—Mehdi Hasan Khan, Md. Tanbin Islam Siam, and Shabab Mustafa—were honored with the Ekushey Padak for their contributions to technology. Several other prominent individuals were also recognized for their achievements in literature, arts, education, and social work.

Each award recipient received a 35-gram gold medal, a certificate of honor, and a check for 4 lakh taka as part of the recognition.

Introduced in memory of the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement, the Ekushey Padak is one of the highest civilian honors in Bangladesh, awarded annually by the government for significant contributions to society.
