Chattogram, Mar 08 (V7N) – The extent of load shedding during the upcoming summer will largely depend on the temperature, according to Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.

During a visit to the Abidar Para area of Dakshin Agrabad on Saturday afternoon, he advised residents to keep air conditioner (AC) temperatures at 25°C during the summer to help reduce power demand.

Fawzul Kabir Khan also addressed the ongoing waterlogging crisis in Chattogram, stating that the problem will not be resolved before the next monsoon and will require more time. He urged residents to avoid disposing of plastic and polythene in drains, canals, and water bodies, which contribute to blockages and flooding.

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain warned that structures obstructing drainage canals and water flow will be demolished if necessary. He emphasized that public interest will take precedence over individual interests in the canal and drain cleanup efforts.

The mayor also urged residents to be mindful of environmental protection and cooperate with authorities in ensuring clean and effective drainage systems in the city.
