Doha, Apr 22 (V7N)- Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has described the Rohingya crisis as one of the biggest challenges for Bangladesh and urged the global community to take concrete steps to ensure their safe and dignified repatriation.
He made these remarks during the inaugural session of the ‘Arthana Summit 2025’ held in Doha, Qatar on Tuesday (April 22). This year’s summit is centered on the theme “Building Our Legacy: Sustainability, Innovation and Traditional Knowledge.”
Highlighting the 2024 mass uprising in Bangladesh, Dr. Yunus described it as a historic, youth-driven movement against discrimination that evolved into a nationwide campaign demanding justice, good governance, and accountability. “It was the collective voice of a generation yearning for dignity, transparency, and inclusive governance,” he said.
Dr. Yunus emphasized that sustainable development is not possible without global peace and stability, urging leaders around the world to work together to create inclusive political and economic environments, especially for marginalized communities.
He also stressed the need for a prosperous, tolerant, green, and sustainable future, combining traditional knowledge, innovation, and technology to tackle the global crises of today.
Praising Qatar, the host country, Dr. Yunus noted its foresight and commitment to building a sustainable and inclusive future, setting a positive example for the international community.
