The High Court has issued an order mandating the closure of primary and secondary schools throughout Ramadan, effectively suspending a prior notification to keep schools operational during the holy month. This decision was made by the High Court on Sunday afternoon.

The directive came after Supreme Court lawyer Md Elias Ali Mondal filed a writ petition on February 25 challenging the legality of the government's decision to keep primary and secondary schools open during Ramadan. The respondents to the rule include secretaries and deputy secretaries of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry, the director-general of the Primary Education Directorate, and the director of the Children Welfare Trust.

The writ specifically requested directives to keep schools closed during Ramadan until the rule is resolved.
