London, June 11 (V7N) — Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, was paid a courtesy call by Wouter van Warsch, Executive Vice President of Airbus, and Charles Wylie, Vice President of Menzies Aviation, in London on Tuesday.
The meeting took place at the Chief Advisor's hotel on the first day of his four-day official visit to the United Kingdom.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Yunus arrived at Heathrow Airport at 7:05 am local time on an Emirates Airlines flight from Dhaka. He was welcomed by Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to the UK, Abida Islam.
According to the official itinerary, the Chief Advisor is scheduled to meet members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Bangladesh at 2:00 pm UK time today. Later, he will hold talks with UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Secretary David Lammy.
Additionally, Dr. Yunus is set to meet the UK's Special Envoy for Women and Girls, Baroness Harriet Harman. A separate meeting is also scheduled with Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland at 5:30 pm.
The Chief Advisor is also expected to give exclusive interviews to leading British media outlets, including the Financial Times and The Guardian, later in the day.
