Dhaka, Aug 29 (V7N) – Election Commissioner Anwarul Islam Sarkar has said that the upcoming 13th National Parliament election will be the riskiest election in the country’s history.
He made the remark on Friday morning (August 29) while speaking at a training program at the Election Commission office in Agargaon, Dhaka.
“The election must be free from sloppy voting. This is a big challenge for the commission, and there is no alternative to overcoming it,” Anwarul stressed, urging election officials and all stakeholders to remain vigilant.
At the same event, Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah highlighted the enthusiasm among expatriates, saying, “The number of voters could be higher than expected as many expatriates are waiting to cast their votes with great excitement.”
Other commissioners also expressed confidence that the polls would be held smoothly. They emphasized the need for frugality in election management, while clarifying that this should not compromise the overall conduct of the election.
