Dhaka, Nov 29 (V7N) – Interim Government Legal Adviser Professor Asif Nazrul visited Evercare Hospital late Friday night to inquire about the health condition of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He arrived at the hospital at around 11:45 p.m., stayed for a brief period, and was updated by medical staff on her current condition. He also expressed his wishes for her recovery. BNP’s media cell confirmed the visit.
In a Facebook post later that night, Professor Nazrul wrote that he had just returned from the hospital and that Khaleda Zia’s condition was “not good at all,” urging everyone to pray for her.
Earlier, BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan stated that Khaleda Zia remains under intensive observation. After a meeting with the medical board formed for her treatment, he briefed reporters outside the hospital. He noted that the board had thoroughly reviewed her latest medical parameters and adjusted treatment accordingly. He added that doctors are doing everything possible and monitoring her condition closely.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus had earlier expressed deep concern over Khaleda Zia’s deteriorating health. He has been receiving regular updates and instructed officials to ensure that all necessary medical support is provided.
Following the Chief Adviser’s remarks, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman conveyed his sincere gratitude for the concern shown toward the former prime minister.
Khaleda Zia is currently being treated in the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit for severe complications involving her heart and lungs, alongside multiple existing chronic health conditions.
