Dhaka, Dec 09 (V7N) – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin’s announcement of the 13th National Parliament Election schedule has been finalized. Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Machud confirmed that the schedule for both the National Parliament Election and Referendum will be officially announced in the evening after a meeting with the President, which is expected to take place either tomorrow or Thursday.
EC Machud shared this information with journalists on Tuesday afternoon, stating that the CEC will urge all stakeholders, including political parties, to cooperate to ensure the elections are held on schedule. In line with tradition, the Nasir Uddin-led commission is set to meet the President tomorrow. Earlier, the CEC met with the Chief Justice to discuss overall preparations for the election.
The entire Election Commission had also previously met with Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus to deliberate on broader election-related issues. Additionally, the EC has issued a gazette amending the Representation of the People Order (RPO). According to the amendment, postal ballots without a tick or cross mark against a symbol will be considered invalid. Similarly, votes with marks on more than one symbol will also be rejected.
