Dhaka, Dec 11 (V7N) — The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election, with voting set for Thursday, February 12, 2026. A referendum will also be held on the same day.

Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin announced the schedule at 6 pm on Thursday, with a live broadcast on BTV and BTV World.

According to the schedule:

  • Nomination papers must be submitted by December 29, 2025.

  • Papers will be scrutinized from December 30 to January 4, 2026, with appeals allowed until January 11.

  • Appeals will be disposed of between January 12 and January 18.

  • The last day for withdrawal of candidacy is January 20, followed by symbol allocation on January 21.

  • Election campaigning will run from January 22 until 7:30 am on February 10.

CEC Nasir Uddin described the election as a unique and historically important event, highlighting that it will not only determine the public’s choice for reforms but also restore genuine democratic processes. He noted that holding a national election and a referendum on the same day is unprecedented and provides an opportunity to reinforce the credibility of state and democratic institutions.
