Dhaka, Dec 15 (V7N) — Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed has assured that sufficient funds will be allocated to organize the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections and referendum, emphasizing that there will be no reservations or shortages in this regard.
He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Government Procurement on Monday. Dr. Ahmed said that the budget for this election cycle will be higher than usual, as the national election and referendum will be held on the same day. Funds will be released following a formal demand letter from the Election Commission, he added.
The Finance Advisor also described the election environment as normal and stated that security measures will be strengthened in sensitive areas to ensure smooth voting.
Addressing concerns about the medical treatment of Osman Hadi, the Inqilab Mancha spokesperson injured in a recent assassination attempt, Dr. Ahmed said that there will be no financial constraints for his treatment abroad. The necessary allocation will be provided from the ministry’s own budget.
He further highlighted that the interim government has recently repaid six billion dollars of debt, reflecting the country’s strong financial standing and capacity to meet urgent needs.
