On Wednesday, residents of Dhaka commenced their journey back to their hometowns or villages via train, armed with pre-booked tickets, to celebrate the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays with their families. The Dhumketu Express (769) was the first train to depart from Dhaka to Rajshahi at 6 am.

Shortly after, the Parjatak Express (816) bound for Cox's Bazar was scheduled to leave at 6:15 am but departed five minutes later, at 6:20 am. The third train, Parabat Express (709) heading to Sylhet, departed at 6:34 am.

Despite the holiday rush, there was no additional crowding observed at Kamalapur Railway Station, as all tickets had been pre-sold online. Railway authorities implemented thorough checks to prevent ticketless travel, allowing passengers entry only after confirming their ticket details through scanning, whether on paper or displayed on mobile phones.

Temporary law enforcement booths were set up at the station to ensure passenger safety during the Eid journey. Passengers expressed satisfaction with the online ticketing system, which has streamlined the process. However, they urged authorities to ensure punctuality in train departures.

Station Master Md Anwar Hossain assured passengers that officials at all levels are committed to ensuring a smooth Eid journey for travelers. All tickets for Eid trips until April 9 have been sold out, with sales for April 10, 11, and 12 pending confirmation based on moon sighting.
