Muhammad Imran, Bangladesh's Ambassador to the United States, has urged Bangladeshi expatriates to utilize legal channels for sending remittances, emphasizing the positive impact on the country's economy. He also encouraged them to showcase Bangladesh's success stories to enhance its global reputation.

Ambassador Imran made these remarks as the chief guest at the Customers' Gathering and SECI App Campaign organized by Sonali Exchange at the Bangabandhu Auditorium of the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC on Friday evening.

The event, jointly organized by the Bangladesh Embassy and Sonali Exchange, aimed to raise awareness about sending remittances through legal channels.

Md Afzal Karim, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Sonali Bank PLC, attended as a special guest, while Devasree Mitra, CEO of Sonali Exchange Company Incorporation, USA, delivered the welcome address.

Ambassador Imran commended Sonali Bank for introducing the SECI App for legal remittance transfers and urged the Bangladeshi diaspora to spread awareness about its benefits. He also highlighted the consular services offered by the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC.

In his speech, Md Afzal Karim discussed Sonali Bank's efforts to provide banking services to people efficiently. He emphasized the convenience and immediacy of using the SECI App for remittance transfers, underscoring the significant benefits of sending money through legal channels.

The event was attended by a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates from Washington DC and neighboring states, with Shamima Yeasmin Smrite, Counsellor and Head of Chancery, overseeing the proceedings.
