Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud emphasized the importance of promoting inter-generational equity during an international conference in Dhaka. He highlighted the government's efforts to ensure quality education and healthcare services for children and adolescents, under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
Mahmud underscored Bangladesh's commitment to addressing challenges like child marriage, child labor, and malnutrition. He also mentioned the government's support for senior citizens and its focus on areas such as climate action, environmental conservation, and digital transformation. The conference, titled "ICPD30 Global Dialogue on Demographic Diversity and Sustainable Development," was jointly hosted by Bangladesh, Bulgaria, and Japan, along with UNFPA.
Mahmud expressed Bangladesh's readiness to update its National Population Policy with UNFPA's support and to share its experiences with other developing nations. The event aimed to discuss global and regional population dynamics, with a focus on practical responses to demographic changes while reinforcing human rights and gender equality principles.
