The Malaysian government will not reconsider the May 31 deadline for Bangladeshi workers entering the country, according to High Commissioner Haznah Md Hashim. Speaking to reporters after meeting with State Minister for Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Shofiqur Rahman Choudhury, she emphasized that the deadline applies uniformly to all 15 source countries.
Despite a request from the state minister to reconsider the deadline, the high commissioner noted that the Malaysian government has adhered strictly to the deadline. She also addressed allegations from the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) about the issuance of e-visas after the deadline, stating that no such allegations would be entertained without proof.
