Dhaka, August 30- Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, met with Swiss Ambassador Reto Rengli on Thursday at the Guest House Jamuna. The discussion focused on cooperation to recover money smuggled out of Bangladesh and strengthen bilateral economic ties.

During the meeting, Prof. Yunus emphasized the critical need to bring back substantial sums of money that have been illicitly transferred out of the country. He inquired about possible methods and cooperation from Switzerland in repatriating these funds. Ambassador Reto Rengli reassured him of Switzerland's willingness to cooperate, stating, "Switzerland is always willing to cooperate in accordance with globally recognized processes and standards."

The ambassador also expressed Switzerland's support for the interim government and its eagerness to enhance bilateral economic relations. "I really hope that the business environment of Bangladesh will develop more," he added, signaling a positive outlook for future economic collaboration between the two countries.

In addition to economic issues, the conversation touched upon the current situation in Myanmar's Rakhine State. Ambassador Rengli expressed concern over the ongoing crisis, highlighting the need for international attention and cooperation. In response, Prof. Yunus outlined his government's commitment to fostering young Rohingya leadership within the refugee camps in Bangladesh, aiming to empower the displaced community through targeted initiatives.

The meeting underscored the mutual interests of Bangladesh and Switzerland in fostering economic growth and addressing regional humanitarian concerns, marking a step towards closer cooperation in various domains.
