Beginning on February 9, Maulana Ilyas Bin Saad gave the introductory speech following the Fajr prayer on the bank of Turag in Tongi, marking the beginning of the second phase of Biswa Ijtema, the second largest Muslim assembly.
This stage, designed for devotees of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, will end on February 11.
Leading Friday prayers will be India's most illustrious cleric and foremost Tablighi leader, Maulana Ilyas Bin Saad. On the bank of Turag, tens of thousands of participants are assembling from Dhaka and the adjacent regions.
To ensure efficient transportation of a huge number of people during the Biswa Ijtema, Dhaka and Gazipur metropolitan police issued special directives for car parking and movement.
The first phase of Ijtema concluded on February 4 and on February 6, at the central coordination center of Biswa Ijtema 2024, authorities representing the first phase officially surrendered the grounds and materials of Biswa Ijtema to Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Abul Fate Mohammad Safiqul Islam.
The deputy commissioner then formally transferred accountability for planning the Biswa Ijtema's second phase.
