Dhaka, Aug 13 (V7N) – The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed a total of 32 people into Bangladesh through the Panchagarh and Lalmonirhat borders on Wednesday morning.

According to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), 23 people, including women and children, were detained by Bangladeshi border forces at the Ghagra border area of Panchagarh Sadar after being pushed into Bangladeshi territory late at night. They were subsequently handed over to the local police station. Initial interrogation revealed that the detainees were from various border districts, including Satkhira and Jessore, and had been residing in India for an extended period.

On the same day, the BSF pushed 9 people through the Machirbari border in Patgram, Lalmonirhat. The BGB confirmed that all 9 individuals are Bangladeshi citizens, and authorities plan to verify their identities before handing them over to their relatives.

The incident highlights ongoing cross-border movements along northern Bangladesh’s borders and the continued vigilance of the BGB in securing the region.
