Dhaka, Mar 24 (V7N) – Krishna Srinivasan, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman during a meeting held at the Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday.
The meeting was confirmed through a post on the verified Facebook page of the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to sources, the discussion focused on Bangladesh’s current economic situation, development cooperation, and future policy directions. The issue of IMF loan installments and related conditions also featured prominently in the talks.
Officials concerned consider the meeting significant in the context of Bangladesh’s ongoing economic engagement with the IMF, especially amid efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability and implement reform measures.
Among those present at the meeting were Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Finance Advisor Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir. Finance Secretary Dr. Md. Khayeruzzaman Majumder and other senior officials also participated in the discussion.
