Speaking at the launch of the new e-Return Service Centre at the NBR Bhaban in Agargaon, Krejza highlighted the potential growth in the use of this EU-funded center. "We expect the number of users and electronic tax submissions to grow rapidly," he remarked.
The new Service Centre, operated by National Board of Revenue (NBR) officials trained in the e-Return system, is part of the EU’s Public Financial Management Programme. The facility is intended to simplify the tax return process for Bangladeshis.
NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan, along with Krejza, inaugurated the center. Krejza noted that while last year saw only half a million e-returns, this year could reach up to 1.5 million, marking a significant increase for a country of Bangladesh's size.
The Service Centre is designed to support taxpayers in navigating the e-Return system, aligning with NBR's broader goal of easing the tax submission process. Krejza also praised ongoing reforms in the NBR, emphasizing the crucial role of such changes in Bangladesh’s development.
The e-Return website, etaxnbr.gov.bd, offers a comprehensive help section, user manual, and frequently asked questions. For further assistance, taxpayers can contact the service center via phone or submit queries online through the system’s ticketing function.
