Mongla, Feb 22, (V7N) – For the first time, goods transportation via rail has begun through Mongla Port. Starting on Friday afternoon, 30 wagons began transporting 1,050 metric tons of molasses to Baghabari in Sirajganj. The remaining molasses will also be transported by rail in phases to Baghabari, from where it will be supplied to various feed companies across the country.
Mohammad Makruzzaman, Deputy Director (Board and Public Relations Department) of Mongla Port Authority, stated that on February 6, a Panama-flagged vessel, MT Dolphin-19, brought in 5,500 metric tons of molasses through Mongla Port. After unloading, the goods were stored at the United Refinery and Bulk Storage Limited at Mongla Port. From there, transportation to Baghabari Depot in Sirajganj by rail began on Friday afternoon.
