Dhaka, Oct 7 (V7N) — Shohoz, one of Bangladesh’s leading online ticketing platforms, has officially clarified that it has no connection or affiliation with SohozCash, a newly publicized mobile financial service (MFS) brand. The clarification comes after recent media reports and public confusion following a newspaper advertisement by SohozCash.
According to Shohoz, the misunderstanding arose when SohozCash published a printed advertisement in a national daily announcing its upcoming launch as a mobile financial service provider. Many people mistakenly linked the initiative to Shohoz due to the similarity in names. However, Shohoz emphasized that the two are entirely separate entities with no corporate or operational relationship, noting even the spelling difference — “Shohoz” includes an “h,” while “SohozCash” does not.
The issue prompted Bangladesh Bank to release an official public notice warning citizens not to engage in any transactions with SohozCash. The central bank stated that SohozCash Limited has neither applied for nor received authorization to operate as an MFS provider in Bangladesh. The bank urged the public to remain cautious and avoid any financial dealings with the company.
Shohoz has expressed appreciation to Bangladesh Bank for its swift action in addressing the issue and protecting the public interest.
“Shohoz has always been a trusted and transparent platform for millions of users across Bangladesh,” said Colonel Md Aminul Haque, BGBM, PPMS (Retd.), Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Corporate Communications Officer at Shohoz. “We want to reassure our users and partners that Shohoz has no affiliation with SohozCash or any similarly named organization. Using an established brand’s name to mislead consumers is unethical and only causes unnecessary confusion in the market.”
Shohoz reiterated that it remains fully compliant with all regulatory standards and continues to uphold the highest levels of transparency, reliability, and customer service. The company has been a leading name in Bangladesh’s digital ecosystem since 2014, offering a range of online ticketing services including bus, ferry, launch, event, rail, and air travel bookings — all through a single, trusted platform.
Shohoz also urged the public and media to verify any official communications or updates directly through its verified channels to avoid misinformation.
