Dhaka, Nov 09 (V7N) — The price of gold has increased once again in the country’s market, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

The new price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,680 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk 2,01,776 per bhori (11.664 grams). The revised price came into effect on Sunday (November 2), following the announcement made on Saturday night (November 1).

As per the new rate:

  • 22-carat gold: Tk 2,01,776 per bhori

  • 21-carat gold: Tk 1,92,596 per bhori

  • 18-carat gold: Tk 1,65,081 per bhori

  • Traditional gold: Tk 1,37,180 per bhori

BAJUS stated that the government-fixed 5 percent VAT and the minimum making charge of 6 percent, as determined by the association, must be added to the selling price. However, the final price may vary depending on the design and craftsmanship of the jewelry.
