SM Mannan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has emphasized the importance of increasing investment from China and boosting exports to the Chinese market to address the trade gap between the two countries.

During a meeting with a delegation from the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI), Mannan highlighted the significant trade potential between Bangladesh and China and stressed the need for bilateral collaboration to capitalize on these opportunities.

The BCCCI delegation, including Advisor Md. Khorshed Alam and other key members, discussed various aspects of Bangladesh's ready-made garment industry with BGMEA leaders. They explored current market trends, challenges, and potential areas for growth and development.

The BGMEA leaders underscored China's role as a major exporter of essential materials for the garment industry and proposed that Chinese investors could contribute to Bangladesh's textile sector to meet increasing demand. They expressed optimism that such collaboration would benefit both countries.

Mannan urged the BCCCI to cooperate in narrowing the trade gap with China, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in achieving this objective. The meeting aimed to identify opportunities for enhanced bilateral trade and investment and foster mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
