Dhaka, Aug 25 (V7N): The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is set to undertake a thorough review of its activities over the last decade, as announced by the newly appointed chairman, Khondoker Rashed Maqsood. During a press conference today, Maqsood highlighted the importance of addressing the numerous allegations of misconduct against former chairmen Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam and M Khairul Hossain. These allegations involve market manipulation and IPO scams, attributed to the misuse of regulatory powers.
Maqsood underscored that restoring investor confidence hinges on a detailed examination of past operations and implementing necessary reforms to prevent future malpractices.
