Gazipur, Sep 17 (V7N) - Workers from a garment factory in Gazipur have staged a blockade on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, demanding their unpaid wages for July and August.
The protest began around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, when workers from Seasons Dresses Limited took to the highway in the Khapara area under Tongi West Police Station in Gazipur city. This caused a complete standstill in traffic.
Several workers, who wished to remain anonymous, told Voice7 News that they are protesting to claim their overdue salaries for the months of July and August. They also stated that they will not vacate the highway until their wages are paid.
