Dhaka, Jan 29 (V7N) — The Department of Environment (DoE) issued two directives, including the requirement to wear face masks outside the home, as Dhaka city's Air Quality Index (AQI) score reached a very unhealthy level on Wednesday morning.
As the AQI levels surpassed 250, the DoE advised city dwellers to wear face masks while going outside, according to an official press release.
Additionally, sensitive individuals, such as the elderly and children, are advised not to leave their residences unless necessary, the release said.
The AQI fluctuates hourly and typically reaches a very unhealthy level in the city and its neighbouring areas during the dry season, it added.
