Dhaka, June 22 (V7N) – A fire broke out at a tannery warehouse in the Hazaribagh area of the capital in the early hours of Saturday. According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, two firefighting units have been deployed to the site and are working to bring the flames under control.

Duty officer Md. Shahjahan from the Fire Service confirmed the incident. “We received the fire alert at 1:55 AM. The blaze erupted at a warehouse belonging to a tannery in Hazaribagh. Two of our units are currently at the location attempting to contain the fire,” he stated.

He further mentioned that additional units are on standby and preparing to join the operation if necessary.

As of the latest update, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and no casualties or injuries have been reported. Authorities have yet to assess the extent of the damage caused by the fire.

The Hazaribagh area, historically known for its concentration of tanneries, has witnessed several fire incidents in the past, often due to poor safety standards and the flammability of materials stored in the warehouses. Emergency services are working cautiously to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
