The announcement was made through a public notice issued on Thursday (June 12).

The notice stated, “In the interest of maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of the Chief Advisor, all types of meetings, rallies, processions, and demonstrations are prohibited from next Saturday (June 14) until further notice, under the powers granted by Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76). The affected areas include the Chief Justice’s official residence, Justice Bhaban, Judges Complex, the main gate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Mazar Gate, Jama Masjid Gate, entrances to the International Crimes Tribunals 1 and 2, and the Judicial Administration Training Institute building.”

The DMP also urged the public and organizers to avoid obstructing traffic or blocking roads in the name of protests or demands.

This is a reimposition of the ban first announced on May 15 by the DMP at the same locations.
