Dhaka, Dec 29 (V7N) — Manch-24 has demanded that the trial of the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, who was shot dead by terrorists, be completed within 25 days. The demand was made at a press conference held at Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University on Monday morning.
At the press conference, the organization also called for the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of all those involved in the murder.
Manch-24 leaders alleged that the interim government has not yet taken effective steps to identify the perpetrators and ensure justice. They expressed dissatisfaction over what they described as delays and a lack of visible progress in bringing the killers to trial.
The organization further warned that if the accused who have allegedly fled to India are not returned under existing prisoner exchange agreements, they would consider filing a case against Delhi at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Manch-24 also claimed that the interim government has failed to ensure adequate security for the leaders of the July movement. According to the organization, the presence of anti-national and foreign-backed elements poses a serious threat to the electoral environment.
They argued that a fair, free, and acceptable election would not be possible during the pre-election period unless such elements are properly identified and brought under the law.
The organization announced that it would continue its movement until visible progress is made in ensuring justice for the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi.
