The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has detained 23 persons in total as part of its anti-drug campaigns in the city on suspicion of selling and using narcotics during the past 24 hours and Friday morning at 6 a.m.

A DMP press statement stated that officers carried out these operations against drug dealers and users in various sections of the city under the jurisdiction of separate police stations.

Along with detaining 23 drug traffickers in total, they also seized an enormous quantity of narcotics from their belongings between Friday, February 8 and Friday, February 8.

Police found 220 grams of heroin and 11.300 kg of cannabis (ganja) in their custody during the anti-drug operations, according to the statement.
In these connections, officers used the Narcotics Control Act to file 20 different charges against the arrestees with the relevant police stations.
