Dhaka, Sep 26 (V7N)- Dhaka continues to experience intermittent rain due to the influence of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal and active monsoon winds. The rain is expected to persist throughout Thursday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Meteorologist Dr. Abul Kalam Mallick informed the media on Thursday morning that light to moderate rain is likely to occur throughout the day, with temporary breaks as clouds gather in the sky. He added that the rain might taper off by the evening, but for now, the city remains under grey skies.

In the past 24 hours, Dhaka recorded 44 millimetres of rainfall, contributing to the challenges faced by residents, particularly students, office-goers, and those dependent on daily wages. Reduced public transport due to the rain has further complicated the situation for many.

The weather forecast also issued a warning for 17 regions across the country, including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, and Mymensingh, where gusty winds of 45-60 km/h are expected alongside thunderstorms. Seaports in these areas have been advised to display local cautionary signal number 1.

While daytime temperatures may increase by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius, night temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country. The rains are likely to ease from Friday, providing some relief to the affected regions.
