Dhaka, Mar 29 (V7N) – Bangladesh is experiencing a prolonged heat wave, which has already spread to 15 districts as of Friday (March 28). According to the latest report from the Meteorological Department, the heat wave, which began affecting 13 districts on Thursday (March 27), has intensified, with the highest temperature recorded in Chuadanga at 39.8°C and Rajshahi at 39.7°C.

The country's overall highest temperature was recorded at 37.6°C in both Jessore and Rajshahi, while Dhaka saw a temperature of 36°C.

The Meteorological Office has confirmed that a moderate heat wave is currently sweeping across the affected districts, including Chuadanga and Rajshahi, while severe heat waves are specifically affecting Jessore and Sirajganj.

The forecast for Saturday further predicts that a severe heat wave will continue in Jessore and Sirajganj districts. Additionally, mild to moderate heat waves are expected to persist in Moulvibazar, Brahmanbaria, Rangamati, and several other districts across the Rajshahi, Khulna, Dhaka, and Barisal divisions.

Meteorological experts have urged the public to take extra precautions against the intense heat, which is likely to persist, advising people to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially in the most affected regions.
