The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) reported that the overall flood situation in the low-lying areas of northeastern Bangladesh might improve within 24 hours from 9 AM on Monday.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in a declining trend, which is expected to continue for the next 72 hours. The Ganges River is rising, which may persist for the next 72 hours, while the Padma River's water level is steady but may fall in the next 24 hours.

The major rivers in the northeastern region are generally declining and are expected to continue doing so for the next 48 hours.

In the next 72 hours, the flood situation in low-lying areas adjacent to the Brahmaputra-Jamuna river in Kurigram, Jamalpur, Gaibandha, Bogura, Tangail, and Sirajganj districts may improve.

The Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers in the northern region may also fall, improving the flood situation in some low-lying areas near the Dudhkumar River in Kurigram district over the next 48 hours.

However, the water levels of rivers in the northwestern region may fall, except for the Mohananda River. The flood situation in low-lying areas of Sirajganj district along the Atrai river may also improve within the next 24 hours.
