Dhaka, Sep 15 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning of potential storms, with wind speeds reaching up to 80 km per hour, across seven districts. River ports in these regions have been advised to exercise caution and display warning signals accordingly.

According to the forecast for inland river ports, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday, strong winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms are expected over the districts of Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar. Winds may blow from the south/south-east at speeds of 60 to 80 km per hour, prompting river ports in these areas to hoist warning signal number two.

Additionally, other parts of the country may experience gusty winds ranging from 45 to 60 km per hour, along with rain or thunderstorms. River ports in these areas have been instructed to display the number one naval warning signal.

Residents and travellers in the affected regions have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of inclement weather.
