Dhaka, Dec 01 (V7N) – Journalist Munni Saha has been released from the custody of the Detective Branch (DB), just hours after her detention from Kawran Bazar in the capital on Saturday night.

She was handed over to her family after paying a bond shortly after midnight on Sunday.

According to Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Saha was released under Section 497 of the CrPC, which requires her to appear in court to seek bail and comply with future police summons.

Earlier, a DB team detained Munni Saha from the Kawran Bazar area around 9:30 pm on Saturday. Mallick confirmed that Saha faces several cases in Dhaka, but authorities have not yet clarified under which police station’s case her arrest is registered.
