Dhaka, Mar 23 (V7N) – The High Court will hear the rule on the bail plea of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in a sedition case after the Eid and vacation breaks.
The High Court bench of Justice Md. Atowar Rahman and Justice Md. Ali Raza has set the schedule for the hearing, Chinmoy Krishna Das’ lawyer, Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya, confirmed on Sunday.
Earlier, on February 4, the High Court issued a rule questioning why Chinmoy Krishna Das should not be granted bail in the case.
The former ISKCON leader was arrested on November 25, and when he applied for bail the next day, the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate denied the request and sent him to prison. The upcoming High Court hearing will now determine his legal fate regarding the sedition charges.
