Dhaka, Sep 16 (V7N) – The International Crimes Tribunal-1 is set to record the remaining testimony of Mahmudur Rahman, editor of the daily Amar Desh, in a case filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and one other accused over alleged crimes against humanity committed during July–August.
The testimony will be heard today (Tuesday) at Tribunal-1, headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Majumder.
On Monday, Mahmudur Rahman’s deposition began at 11:20 am and continued until 12:00 pm, but it remained incomplete. The tribunal then adjourned proceedings and scheduled the continuation and cross-examination for today.
Following Rahman’s testimony, Jatiya Nagorik Party convener Nahid Islam is expected to testify in the case. To date, the tribunal has recorded testimonies from 46 witnesses.
Earlier, on July 10, the tribunal framed five charges of crimes against humanity against Sheikh Hasina, Kamal, and Mamun, formally opening the trial.
