Dhaka, Nov 12 (V7N) — 21 judges appointed as permanent judges of the High Court Division took their oath on Wednesday (November 12) afternoon. The oath was administered by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed at the Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court.

Judges of both the Appellate Division and the High Court Division attended the ceremony. However, Justice Syed Enayet Hossain could not participate due to illness.

The judges who took the oath are:

Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, Justice Md. Mansur Alam, Justice Syed Zahed Mansur, Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Raja, Justice Md. Jabid Hossain, Justice Mubina Asaf, Justice Kazi Waliul Islam, Justice Ainun Nahar Siddika, Justice Md. Abdul Mannan, Justice Tamanna Rahman Khalidi, Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud, Justice Md. Hamidur Rahman, Justice Nasrin Akhter, Justice Sathika Hossain, Justice Syed Mohammad Tajrul Hossain, Justice Md. Toufiq Inam, Justice Yusuf Abdullah Sumon, Justice Sheikh Tahsin Ali, Justice Faiz Ahmed, Justice Md. Sagir Hossain, Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the President appointed 22 additional judges as permanent judges after the July uprising, though Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury, son of BNP leader Nitai Roy Chowdhury, was not confirmed as he had not yet reached the age of 45.

For context, on October 9, 2024, President Md. Shahabuddin had appointed 23 individuals as additional judges of the High Court.
